Title:    Positive Action Day 12th July 2008

Date:    08/07/2008

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are holding a Positive Action Day for women on the 12th July at our Training Centre in Easingwold, near York.

Currently we have an operational workforce consisting of 96% Men and 4% of Women*.  To address this we will be holding a Positive Action Day for Women, on 12 July 2008 for those who are interested in a career in the Fire Service.

The Positive Action Day is for women only and aimed at showing women what the recruitment and selection process involves and also gives them the opportunity to try out any of the physical tests. They can also ask questions and speak to current women fire fighters about what they think about being a fire fighter, and get more information about a career in the Fire Service

The event will have 4 sessions running on Saturday 12th July, and anyone wishing to attend, can attend at the session that best suits them.

The sessions will be running at:

 10:00 am

11:30 am

1:30 pm

3:00 pm

The event is at Training Centre, Stillington Road, Easingwold, YO6 3DX.

Many people mistake Positive Action for Positive Discrimination. Positive Discrimination is unlawful and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service do not advocate discrimination of any kind.
