1002 hrs – False alarm – Skipton

A crew from Skipton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

1048 hrs – Dangerous structure – Goodramgate, York

A crew from Huntington has removed a pane of glass which had fallen from a 3rd floor window to a 2nd storey roof due to a rotten window frame. Crew used the aerial ladder platform.

.1057 hrs – Small fire – Bilton Lane, Harrogate

A crew from Knaresborough has investigated reports of a fire in the open. The fire was out on our arrival, crew inspected only. The cause is believed to be deliberate.

1101 hrs – Rescue – off Cheltenham Parade, Harrogate

A crew from Ripon has rescued a female who was locked in the bathroom of a domestic property for over an hour due to a faulty door mechanism. Crew used a door breaker and female was released uninjured.

1234 hrs – False alarm – off Westborough, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to dust in the detection system caused by workmen.

1300 hrs – Small fire – Scorton

A crew from Richmond has been called to a fire in the open on a play area involving the seat on a swing. Slight damage to seat only. Fire was out on arrival. Crew carried out inspection only. The cause is believed to be deliberate.

1328 hrs – False alarm – Westborough, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault in the detection system.

1343 hrs – False alarm – off Wigginton Road, York

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault in the detection system.

1414 hrs – Old Maltongate, Malton

A crew from Malton has been called to reports of flooding at a domestic property. This was flooding in the garden due to a blocked drain. Advice given to occupier. No action by Fire crew.

1459 hrs – Fire in property – Osmotherley

2 crews from Northallerton have been called to a smoke alarm activation in a domestic property. On their arrival they discovered there had been a small fire in a microwave involving a paper coffee cup. Fire damage only to the paper cup. The fire was out on ourĀ  arrival and crew carried out an inspection only. The cause is believed to be microwave timer set for too long.

1513 hrs – False alarm – off Cold Bath Road, Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

1520 hrs – False alarm – Somerset Terrace, Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough and Filey have been called to reports of an oxygen cylinder on fire in the road. This was a false alarm. A small medical oxygen cylinder had fallen from the back of a car resulting in damage to the cylinder. This caused the cylinder to vent off. No fire and no explosion. Crew made the cylinder safe.
