Incident Summary 9th October 2021 Night Shift

17:56 – A64, Seamer

Scarborough crews responded to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision where a motorcyclist had come off his bike. Crews administered first aid to the male casualty and assisted with traffic management alongside the police until the arrival of paramedics. The male casualty was then transported to hospital via road ambulance.

18:54 – Knaresborough

Knaresborough crew responded to reports of a vehicle leaking fuel in the street. The crews soaked up 2-3 litres of fuel and 1 litre of oil from the road using drizzet pads and the police was requested as the car appeared to be abandoned.

22:49 – Gowthorpe, Selby

Crews from Selby responded to reports of smoke seen in a commercial premises. This resulted in a false alarm caused by the fog burglar alarm system which had been activated. Police were also in attendance and crews used the positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the shop.

00:24 – Ugthorpe, Whitby

Crews from Whitby and Danby responded to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a car. Crews assisted a 26 year old female driver who had become mechanically trapped after rolling the vehicle to avoid a badger. The crews assisted the female out of the vehicle and administered first aid and oxygen therapy until the arrival of paramedics on scene, which she was then transported to hospital via road ambulance. The vehicle was made safe using stabilisation, lighting and small tools.

02:13 – Aldborough, Boroughbridge

Crews from Ripon, Thirsk, Knaresborough and Harrogate responded to reports of a fire at a pub in the village. Crews discovered a fire in the kitchen believed to have originated from a tumble dryer. Crews used 2 hose reel jets, 1 covering jet, 4 breathing apparatus, thermal imaging camera’s, 1 short extension ladder, positive pressure ventilation (Fan) and lighting to extinguish the fire and assist them with the incident.

03:00 – Railway Road, Harrogate

Crews from Acomb who were on standby at Harrogate responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a commercial premises. This resulted in a false alarm.

05:30 – Crosby Gardens, Northallerton

Crews from Northallerton responded to reports of 2 persons trapped in a bedroom. Crews used small tools to gain entry through the door and release the occupants.
