Incident Summary – Day Shift Friday 22nd October.

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

1035 – A684 Bedale

A believed fuel leak caused a fire that completely destroyed a car on the road. The Northallerton crew used hose reels and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

1218 – Glaisdale, Whitby

Crews from Whitby and Danby extinguished a tractor on fire, using breathing apparatus and hose reels. The cause was thought to be an electrical fault.

1343 – Station Road, York

The York crew rescued 5 adults and a toddler from a lift car in a commercial premises. Lift keys were used.

1604 – Masham

A crew from Leyburn released a male trapped in a lift car.

1622 – A1 near Richmond

Crews from Richmond and Northallerton attended a smoking car on the hard shoulder of the motorway. The car had suffered an engine failure, no fire.

In addition to the above incidents we attended automatic fire alarm activations in Harrogate and Scarborough. Both were false alarms.
