Incident summary – Night shift Wednesday 3rd November

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 17:57 De Bruce Road, Brompton.

Crews responded to reports of smoke coming from electric cupboard, however this was a false alarm, an overheated fuse had created some steam mistaken for smoke.

19:25 Coney Street, York 

Crews attended a smoke alarm activation at a commercial property. This was a false alarm caused by a faulty detector.

19:43 Knaresborough Road, Harrogate.

Crews assisted occupant with a faulty kitchen tap that wouldn’t turn off. a high volume of water was beginning to flood her kitchen. Crews used small tools to isolate the water supply.

20:33 Rose Avenue, Whitby. 

Crews attended a chimney fire at a domestic property. The fire was caused by accumulation of soot. Crews extinguished the fire using hearth tools.

Crews responded to a heavy goods vehicle on fire. The fire was out on arrival of crews, driver had extinguished the fire using a fire extinguisher.

Crews assisted an elderly lady who was stuck on the stairs in her home. Crews assisted her and incident was left with her carers.

03:56 Darlington Road, Northallerton.

Crews attended a smoke alarm activation at a commercial property. This was a false alarm caused by a fault in the system
