Incident Summary – Day Shift Friday 5th November 2021

07:34     Gain access – Embsay

A crew from Skipton has been called to gain access to a domestic property after a confused resident accidentally activated a personal alarm. Crew used a neighbours key.

10:30     Gas leak – Sherburn in Elmet

Crews from Tadcaster and Selby have been called to a gas leak in a domestic property after the occupier attempted to change cooker knobs. Crews ventilated the property, isolated the gas to the cooker, blew out a candle in the living room and gave advice to the occupier.

11:01     False alarm – Swan Road, Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to dust in the detector head.

11:36     Gain entry – Howe Hill Close, York

A crew from Acomb has been called to assist a carer gain entry to a residential property. Crew gained access through a garage and gave reassurance to an elderly resident until arrival of ambulance service.

11:41   Road traffic collision – A59 near Blubberhouses

Crews from Harrogate and Summerbridge have been called to a 2 vehicle road traffic collision involving a Skoda Fabia and an Audi Q5. No persons trapped. 4 casualties with minor injuries left in care of paramedics.

13:21     False alarm – The Shambles, York

Crews from York and Acomb have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to steam from a steamer.

13:42     False alarm – Tadcaster

A crew from Tadcaster has responded to a smoke alarm activation in an industrial property. This was a false alarm due to dust.

14:29     Ring removal – Scarborough

Scarborough crew have removed a ring from a females finger after she called into the Fire Station. Crew used a ring cutter and the female was uninjured.

16:04     False alarm – Tadcaster

A crew from Tadcaster has responded to a smoke alarm activation in an industrial property. This was a false alarm due to dust from workmen.
