Incident Summary Night Shift Friday 5th November

Time: 1905      Location: Brayton, Selby

Selby crew called out to a report of a large fire in the open. Crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to controlled burning.

Time: 1907      Location: Broughton Road, Skipton

Skipton crew attended a residential property after a call from occupier of smoke alarm sounding. On arrival, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to steam from shower.

Time: 20:03     Location: Broadway, Colburn

Colburn crew attended a small fire in the open inside a waste bin. Crew extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet. Cause believed deliberate.

Time: 20:28     Location: Sandsend, Whitby

Whitby crew called to a report of a bin fire. Crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel. Fire caused deliberately by fireworks being set off next to rubbish.

Time: 20:56     Location: Broadway, Colburn

Colburn crews called to same area but a different bin reported to be on fire. Fire out on arrival of crew, no action taken.

Time: 21:24     Location: Knaresborough

Knaresborough crew attended and extinguished a fire to hedges and a wheelie bin next to a residential property. Crew used one hose reel to extinguish the fire and confirmed the cause of the fire to be due to a stray firework.

Time: 21:48      Location: Kingsway North, York

Acomb crew sent to investigate after concerns a bonfire had been re lit by youths. On arrival, crew confirmed this to be just the remains of an organised bonfire with only ash remaining. No signs of youths in area. No action taken.

Time: 21:53       Location: Scarborough

Scarborough crew attended after numerous reports of a vehicle on fire in a residential area. Crew extinguished the fire using high pressure hose reel jets. Incident left in hands of Police and vehicle owner.

Time: 22:56       Location: Area of A684, Bainbridge

Hawes crew attended the area and extinguished a small fire in the open using knapsack sprayers and beaters.

Time: 23:55       Location: Scarborough

Scarborough crew attended to assist ambulance gain entry into a property. Crew used small tools. Incident left with paramedics.

Time: 01:30       Location: Cross Hills, Keighley

Skipton crew attended an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and following investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Time: 02:30       Location: Carlton, Selby

Selby crew were mobilised to assist Ambulance crews to remove a patient from a property and into an Ambulance. Manpower used.

Time: 03:00       Location: York

York crew attended an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and following investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to a system fault.

Time: 04:08       Location: York

Acomb crew attended an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and following investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to an unknown cause.

Time: 04:53       Location: Newby, Scarborough

Scarborough crew were mobilised to assist Ambulance crews to remove a patient from a property and into an Ambulance. Manpower used.

Time: 05:44       Location: Embsay, Skipton

Skipton crew attended an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and following investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to an accidental activation by the resident.
