Incident Summary – 2nd December 2021 Day Shift

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

08:30 – Main Street, Huby

Crews from Acomb and Huntington responded to reports of a fire at a residential premises. Crews used one hose reel jet, 2 breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera, ppv fan and a hooligan tool to extinguish and investigate the fire. The cause was accidental.

09:41 – Market Place, Selby

Crews from Selby responded to reports of smoke coming from the kitchen of a commercial premises. This resulted in false alarm with good intent caused by cooking fumes.

11:54 – Church Lane, Spofforth

Crews from Harrogate responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential premises. This resulted in a false alarm.

13:40 – Carlton, Selby

Crews from Selby responded to reports of a van fire. They extinguished the fire using 2 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, thermal imaging camera, triple extension ladder, spreaders and hooligan tool. The cause was unknown at this time.

15:39 – Barlby, Selby

Crews from Selby responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at an industrial premises. This resulted in a false alarm.

16:19 – Mewith Lane, Bentham

Crews from Settle and neighbouring brigade Hornsby responded to reports of a road traffic collision involving 2 vehicles and a telegraph pole. All persons were out of the vehicles upon our arrival. Crews assisted police and ambulance crews by making the scene safe.

16:40 – Woodlands, Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough and Filey responded to reports of an automatic fire alarm sounding and no response from the occupant. This incident is ongoing.
