Incident Summary – Sunday 26th June 2022 Day Shift

07:58 – Bar Lane, Boroughbridge

Crews from Boroughbridge and Ripon responded to reports of smoke coming from a commercial premises. This resulted in a small mechanical fire confined to a compressor. The compressor was safely isolated and advice was given to staff.

08:09 – Barons Crescent, Copmanthorpe

Crews from Acomb and Tadcaster responded to reports of a fire near a recreational center. Wooden fencing and a wooden planter was found well alight and was extinguished using one hose reel jet. The cause is believed to have been a dropped light.

10:56 – Camblesforth, Selby

Crews from Selby responded to reports of dangerous debris falling from a damaged property in high winds. Crews used a triple extension ladder, and small tools to remove broken fascia from the property.

11:08 – Sharow, Ripon

An Officer responded to reports of a tree branch hanging precariously close to a road and power line. The incident was left in the hands of northern power and highways to resolve.

11:38 – Kirkham Road, Whitby

Crews from Whitby responded to reports of a chair on fire in a garden. The crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire which had started to damage the patio doors. The cause is believed to be accidental from smokers materials.

12:25 – Langdale Forest, Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough, Kirkbymoorside, Malton and Whitby responded to reports of a fire in woodland measuring 25 square meters. The cause is believed to have accidentally spread from a picnic and crews are still on scene.

12:44 – A168, Hunsingore

Crews from Boroughbridge and Knaresborough responded to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision. Crews used a winch to restabilise the car which had gone off the carriageway and was being propped up by a tree. Both occupants of the car were then able to self extricate and were taken to hospital for believed minor injuries.

13:11 – Broadway, York

Crews from Acomb responded to reports of a hedge,fence and shed on fire in the garden of a residential premises. Crews extinguished a fire which had spread to 2 sheds using two hose reel jets. The cause is believed to have been accidental due to hot embers.

14:49 – Franklin Mount, Harrogate

Crews from Harrogate responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential premises. This resulted in a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

16:24 – Dikes Lane, Great Ayton

Crews from Stokesley responded to reports of a fire seen on the hillside. This is still ongoing.
