Incident Summary – Night Shift, 21st November 2022

17:13 Filey Road, Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of two people who had become trapped in their living room due to a faulty door mechanism. Crews gained access to the property using keys that were passed through a window by the occupants and then gained entry to the living room using hand tools. Crews removed the faulty door lock to prevent the occupants becoming trapped again and gave advice.

18:10 Oakdale Road, York 
A crew from Acomb responded to a report of a two year old who had become locked in a bedroom due to a faulty handle. Crews gained access to the bedroom using hand tools and left the child in the care of their parents.

21:53 Huntington Road, York 
Crews from Huntington, York and Tadcaster responded to a report of a two vehicle RTC involving a car and a bus. Crews released one casualty who was trapped in the car and released the driver of the bus who was also trapped. Both casualties were transported to hospital by the ambulance service. Crews left the incident with police.

03:36  Park Crescent, York

A crew from York responded to reports of a moped on fire, on arrival they found this was well alight and used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, the cause is believed to be deliberate.

04:00  Helredale Gardens, Whitby

A crew from Whitby assisted ambulance crews to move a casualty who had fallen back into bed using crew power only.

04:35  Abbotsford Road, York

Crew from York and Acomb responded to an alarm sounding this was a false alarm due to steam from a shower.
