Incident Summary for the Night Shift of Thursday 23rd March
1939 Near Scaling Dam – A small amount of heather and moorland was accidentally ignited by a possible dropped light. A crew from Lythe used 2 hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
2017 York Road area, Acomb – An Acomb crew assisted a family when they suspected they had a gas leak. It was a false alarm and the crews gave advice.
0612 Central Thirsk – Reports of smoke issuing from a commercial building. On arrival crews found anti-theft smoke device had activated accidentally. False alarm.
In addition to the above incidents we also attended 2 automatic fire alarm calls in York. Both were false alarms.
