Incident Bulletin – Sunday 10th September – Night Shift

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

18:11 – Nicholas Gardens, York

Crews from York released an occupant from the bathroom due to a faulty door mechanism. Small tools were used and advice given to residents.

18:41 – Wetherby Road, Rufforth

Acomb crews responded to reports of hay bales on fire in a field. Crews used one hose reel jet to stop the fire spread and liaised with the land owner to assist turning over. The hay bales will then be left to burn out with regular visits by crews.

19:05 – Bellhouse Way, York

Crews from York responded to a bin on fire near a recreational park. Crews used a bucket of water to extinguish. The cause was deliberate.

19:46 – Maple Grove, York

York crews responded to reports of a grass fire near the millennium bridge. Crews extinguished the fire using a knapsack sprayer and bucket of water. The cause was deliberate.

20:38 – Blue Nile Way, Colburn

Colburn responded to reports of smoke sighted in the area. This resulted in a false alarm caused by controlled burning under supervision. Advice was given.

22:29 – High Street, Harrogate

Crews assisted paramedics to gain entry into a property using a triple extension ladder and small tools. The occupant was left in the care of paramedics on scene.

23:47 – Vangarde Way, Huntington

Huntington crews responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a commercial property. This resulted in a false alarm.

01:14 – Brompton, Northallerton

Northallerton crews responded to a report of smoke and possibly fire sighted in the distance towards Darlington Road. This resulted in a false alarm.

02:16 – Ganton, Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a commercial premises. This resulted in a false alarm.

05:29 – A19 Gristhwaite

Crew were mobilised to a report of smoke from a HGV. This was an electrical fire, extinguished prior to fire service arrival using a dry powder extingisher. Crews checked fire was out with Thermal Imaging Camera.
