Incident summary – Night shift Thursday 14th September

 

17:25 Gowthorpe, Selby

Selby crews responded to reports of youths on top of roof. On arrival youths had climbed down and left the scene.

18:03 Ripon Road, Harrogate.

Harrogate crews rescued a person stuck in a hotel lift. Crews used lift keys.

18:13 Brame Lane, Norwood

Harroagate crews responded to a fire involving wooden beams on the outside of a property. The fire was caused by an electrical fault with the external cables. Crews allowed the wood to burn out. Incident left with Northern Power.

18:30 Kirk Smeaton, Selby

Selby and South Yorkshire crews attended a brazier set on fire and left unattended. Initially there were reports it  was a vehicle on fire. After investigation it was confirmed as a minor fire.

18:32 Crown Crescent, Scarborough.

Scarborough, Sherburn and Robin Hoods Bay attended a fire in a kitchen of a hotel. The staff had extinguished the fire just before the arrival of Fire crew.

18:35 Greendale, Bedale

Bedale attended a smoke alarm activation at a domestic property. This was a false alarm caused by cooking fumes.

18:48 Gowthorpe Selby

Selby crew were requested by Police to assist with getting a group of teenagers down from a roof, On arrival the children had got down and left the scene.

18:53 Rillington, Malton

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire in a field, this was a false alarm due to controlled burning.

19:49 Scarborough

Crew were mobilised to a report of a smell of smoke in a property. This was a false alarm, advice given.

20:14 Burton Stone Lane, York

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire in a park. This was a deliberate fire by youths. Fire extinguished by crews using knapsack sprayer.

21:23 Wains Road, York.

Acomb crew attended a smoke alarm activation at a residential property. This was a false alarm caused by vape fumes.

21:31 Bishopthorpe, York

York crew responded to reports of a fire sighted near a cycle track. Crews searched the area but no fire was located.

22:16 Harmby Road, Leyburn.

Leyburn crew attended a smoke alarm activation at a sheltered housing residence. This was a false alarm caused by smoking.

00:58 Kirkdale Road, Kirkbymoorside. 

Kirkbymoorside crews attended a smoke alarm activation at an industrial premises. This was a false alarm.

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding in a premises. This was a false alarm due to a burst steam pipe.

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding in a premises. This was a false alarm due to a system fault.
