Incident Summary Saturday 16th September Day Shift
0931 – River Ouse, Cawood A Selby crew, including the Selby rescue boat, attended a vessel sinking on the river. Our crew pumped out the river water, stemmed the leak and handed the vessel over to the owner.
1051 – Leeds Road, Harrogate A Harrogate crew made the scene safe after a 2-vehicle road traffic collision. No persons were trapped.
1158 – Kexby, York Crews from York and Acomb attended reports of smoke in a residential care home. On arrival our crews found smoke in the staff room caused by burned food in a microwave oven. The microwave was removed and the room ventilated.
1505 – Great Heck, nr Selby Crews from Selby, Tadcaster, Humberside and South Yorkshire were mobilised to reports of a helicopter crash. On arrival crews found a helicopter had gone into a canal, with a single male pilot out of the helicopter, out of the water and seemingly unhurt. The pilot was checked by ambulance crews on scene. Fire crews are making the scene safe.
1611 – Carleton-in-Craven A Skipton crew attended a single-vehicle road traffic collision. No persons were trapped, crews made the scene safe.
In addition to the incidents above we also attended automatic fire alarm activations in Harrogate, Tadcaster, Burton Salmon, and Scarborough. All were false alarms.
