Incident Summary – Friday 22nd September – Night Shift
To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.
18:23 – Filey Road, Scarborough
Crews from Scarborough responded to reports of a male locked in a bathroom at a residential premises. Crews gained entry and assessed the male. The occupant was assisted into a chair and left in the care of neighbours awaiting arrival of paramedics.
18:43 – Wistow Road, Selby
Crews from Selby responded to reports of a horse in an outdoor swimming pool. Pippa was safely retrieved from the pool and left in the care of her owners. Crews used strops and crewpower.
19:10 – Marine Drive, Scarborough
Filey crews responded to reports of a bin fire on the sea front. Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. The cause is believed accidental.
19:30 – Snape, Bedale
Crews from Bedale and Masham responded to reports of a smell of burning from a static caravan. This resulted in a false alarm with good intent.
20:13 – Well Lane, Well
Masham crews came across a vehicle which had been abandoned in the carriageway with no owner in attendance. The owner then reappeared a short while later. Crews gave advice and assisted the owner to move the vehicle to a safe place off the carriageway.
21:16 – High Street, Great Broughton
Crews from Stokesley and neighbouring brigade Coulby Newham responded to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision into a parked car. The driver appeared to had fled the scene after further searches. Crews made the vehicle safe and the incident was left in the hands of Police on scene.
00:54 – Goathland, Whitby
Goathland first responder assisted the ambulance service with first aid care at a residential property.
01:15 – Beulah Terrace, Scarborough
Scarborough crews assisted paramedics to gain entry into a residential property using a door enforcer. The occupant was left in the care of the ambulance service.
03:17 – Muncastergate, York
York crew assisted paramedics with the difficult extrication of a casualty from the first floor of a property. Crew used a spinal board and crew power to lift casualty down a flight of stairs and in to the ambulance.
