Incident summary – Night Shift, Tuesday 28th November

17:48, Ebor court, Selby

A crew from Selby responded to a request from police, to gain entry to a premise, on behalf of the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, for medical reasons. Crews used a door enforcer to gain entry, and left the incident in the hands of the ambulance service.

17:52, Raines Road, Giggleswick

A crew from Bentham responded to reports of a fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm caused by dust.

18:13, A61, Melmerby

Crews from Ripon and Boroughbridge responded to reports of a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. Crews performed scene safety and first aid, until the arrival of the ambulance.

18:32, Cherrywood Avenue, Stokesley

A crew from Stokesley responded to a request from police to gain entry to a property on behalf of carers. On arrival, the occupier communicated through a window, and no fire service intervention was required.

19:15, Richard Street, Selby

A crew from Selby responded to reports of a skip on fire. The fire was caused by hot ashes which had been placed on top of garden waste in a skip. The fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet.

20:32, High Street, Spofforth

Crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough responded to reports of a chimney fire, in a semi detached property.  The fire was confined to the log burner, and was extinguished using buckets of water and a shovel. The cause was a blockage in the chimney.

20:45, Cold Bath Road, Harrogate

Crews from Ripon and Knaresborough responded to reports of a fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm, with an unknown cause.

21:45, Filey

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding in a premises. This was a false alarm due to an unknown cause.

21:53, Kirk Smeaton, Selby

A crew from Selby responded to reports of a residential property fire. Extensive smoke logging to property, believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.

00:05, Lincoln Way, Sherburn in Elmet

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding in a premises. This was a fire in a microwave involving plastics and food, out on arrival. Advice given.

00:30, Heslington, York

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding in a premises. This was a false alarm due to accidental activation of break glass callpoint.

02:23, Tollerton

A crew from Easingwold responded to reports of a fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm caused by a low battery.

03:38, Haxby Road, York

A crew from York responded to a fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm caused by fumes from machinery.

04:21, Fourth Avenue, York

A crew from York responded to a request from the police to gain entry to a property on behalf of the ambulance service. Crews gained entry and left the incident with paramedics.
