Incident Summary – Day Shift, Thursday 30th November

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred. 

Time:  07:12   Location: Wheldrake, York

Incident involved a request to gain entry to a property due to the occupant having fallen. Crew gained entry through an open bathroom window and left occupant in care of their care providers.

Time:  07:21    Location: Killinghall, Harrogate

Incident involved a fire in the kitchen of a 2 storey semi-detached property. Crew used 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet to extinguish. The fire was caused by a wooden chopping board left on top of the oven hob.

Time: 07:30     Location: York

Crew from York responded to reports of a beer cooling fan on fire in a pub. On arrival the fire was already out. Crew used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and isolated the electrics.

Time: 07:40    Location: Killinghall, Harrogate

Crew from Knaresborough responded to a request from carers to assist with a patient who had fallen. Crew power used to lift casualty back in to chair.

Time: 09:02    Location: Skipton

Crew from Skipton responded to reports of an out of control fire in a rear garden. On arrival the fire had been brought back under control. Advice only given.

Time: 13:29    Location: Thirsk

Crew from Ripon and Thirsk responded to a suspected fire at a crematorium. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm caused by over pressurisation during the cremation process.

Time: 16:31    Location: Haxby

Crews from York and Acomb responded to reports of smoke coming from a residential property. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm caused by steam from a boiler flue.
