Incident Summary – Nightshift, Thursday 29th November

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred. 

Time: 18:37   Location: A1036, York

Crews from York and Acomb responded to a road traffic collision but on arrival of both the crews, all casualties were out on arrival. No further action was needed by the fire service and Police remained in attendance.

Time: 20:47   Location: Near Jenny Field Drive, Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate had a request from police and ambulance to gain entry to a property to check a persons welfare. Crews used small tools and the casualty, who had sustained a fall, was left in the care of paramedics.

Time: 21:13   Location: North Yorkshire Moors

Crews from Pickering and Kirbymoorside responded in adverse weather conditions to a road traffic collision involving a vehicle on its side in the beck. On arrival of the fire crews the casualties were already out the vehicle and in a safe location. Crews assisted with the safe transport of all the casualties to be left in the care of the Paramedics at Pickering Fire Station.

Time: 21:27  Location: North Yorkshire Moors, Danby

Crews from Stokesley and the Argocat from Kirbymoorside Fire Station responded to a female trapped on the Yorkshire Moors in adverse weather conditions. The females vehicle had slid into a ditch and a local farmer had towed her out prior to the crews arrival. The female had sustained no injuries and was able to drive home after crews had made it to her to help.

Time: 21:34  Location: A168, Near Dishforth 

Crews from Thirsk and Ripon responded to a Heavy Good Vehicle with its brakes on fire which was out on their arrival. However crews used a hose reel jet to dampen down the brakes and used a thermal imagining camera to check for no remaining heat spots on the vehicle.

Time: 22:12  Location: Near Threshfield, Grassington

Skipton crew responded to a chimney fire. Crews used their chimney kits and a hose reel to extinguish the fire confined to the chimney only. This was caused by a build up of soot. Crews carried out a safe and well being to the occupier about fire safety in their home and the importance of having their chimney swept regularly.

Time: 22:47  Location: Near Cold Bath Road, Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate assisted the ambulance service with the movement of a casualty from their flat. Crew power was used and the casualty was left in the care of the paramedics.

 

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended and inspected fire alarm activations in Scarborough, Harrogate, York. These were all false alarms.
