Incident Summary – Night Shift, Monday 8th July

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Common Lane, Heslington, York – 18:13

York crews attended a pile of wood chippings on fire in a field. Crews extinguished the fire using hose reel jets.

Horseman Lane, Copmanthorpe, York – 18:37

Acomb crew responded to call of a bin fire, this was a false alarm with no fire found.

Scarborough – 21:25

Crews from Scarborough, Filey, and Sherburn responded to a top floor flat fire of a 4 storey property. Crews isolated service to the property using small tools and extinguished the fire using 2 sets of breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet.

Marine Drive, Scarborough – 22:13

Malton crews responded to a fire in the engine bay of a campervan.  The fire was out on arrival of crews, having been extinguished by the owner using a dry powder extinguisher.

Scarborough – 22:42

Sherburn and Robin Hood’s Bay crews responded to reports of a sofa fire on the second floor or a 4 storey residential property. This was a false alarm with no fire found.

Girsby – 00:12

Northallerton crews attended a car field that had spread to 20 square metres of field. Crews extinguished both the vehicle and the field using hose reel jets and spreaders.

Lead Lane, Ripon – 03:12

Ripon crews responded to reports of smoke issuing from a ground floor flat. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.



Crews from Hawes, Scarborough, Robin Hood’s Bay and Northallerton also responded to automatic alarms during the night, these were all false alarms.
