10:05, York
Crews from York and Acomb responded to reports of a fire to the rear of a bin truck.
11:43, Huby, Harrogate
A crew from Harrogate responded to reports of a strong smell of kerosene coming from the drains.
11:50, Scotton, Knaresborough
A crew from Knaresborough responded to reports of a kitten stuck in metal wiring. Crews released the kitten, using small tools.
12:43, York
A crew from Acomb responded to reports of 2 kittens possibly in pipes behind a kitchen unit. Crews removed a manhole cover, and a kitchen unit, to access the pipes and attempt to coax the kittens out of the pipes. This incident was left in the hands of the owner.
13:12, Harrogate
Crews from Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon and Tadcaster responded to reports of a fire to the loft of a residential apartment, within a 4 story building. Crews gained access to the loft, located the fire and extinguished. Crews cut away plaster board and beams to check for hot spots. Crews ventilated the property and used the ariel ladder platform to carry out an external inspection. The fire was believed to be caused by a fire hood of a down light that had been knocked, resulting in a pillow in the loft catching fire, and spreading to the loft space. The fire resulted in 90% fire damager to the loft, 30% fire damage to the hallway, and 100% smoke damage to the flat. Crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera, ariel ladder platform and small tools at this incident.
13:23, Whitby
Crews from Goathland and Scarborough responded to reports of a fire to woodland, measuring 60m by 30m. Crews utilised the landrover to access and extinguish the fire, as well as a light portable pump, a branch, small tools and 4 knapsack sprayers. The cause was believed to be a campfire left unnattended.
13:33, Knaresborough
A crew from Tadcaster responded to reports of a bin fire. This was extinguished using buckets of water. The cause is believed to be accidental, and caused by a dropped light.
15:42, Selby
A crew from Selby responded to reports of a fire to a car. On arrival, this was a fire in the open, consisting of wiring and cabling. Crews used a thermal imaging camera to investigate, 2 breathing apparatus for comfort wear, and one hose reel jet to exinguish the fire. The cause was deliberate.
Crews from Harrogate, York, Ripon, Leyburn responded to fire alarm activations. These were all investigated and confirmed to be false alarms.
