Incident Summary – Day Shift, Tuesday 1st October
To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.
Time: 07.51 Location: Ripon
Crews from Ripon, Harrogate and Knaresborough attended reports of a burning smell on the first floor of a property. This was a fire to a chimney breast between the roof and ceiling of a loft conversion. The fire had spread to internal beams and the surrounding area. The fire was found to be due to the chimney flue liner coming into contact with a wooden structural beam.
Time: 09.26 Location: Ripon
An Officer attended reports there was cast iron guttering falling from a commercial building. It was deemed the fire service was unable to assist at this time and advice was given.
Time: 14.17 Location: Pickering
The crews from Whitby, Danby, Pickering, Malton and Selby were all mobilised to reports of a vehicle containing 3 occupants that was stuck in flood water. The crews rescued all 3 of the occupants who were checked over by our colleagues in the Ambulance service.
Crews from Tadcaster, Skipton, Harrogate and Boroughbridge and also attended automatic fire alarm activations. These were found to be false alarms.
