Incident summary for 01/12/2024 – Day shift

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Time: 09:39  Location: Stillington

Easingwold fire crew responded to a call of a street light smoking. On arrival, this was found to be an electricity pole. Fire crew checked nearby residences using a thermal camera on their fuseboxes, applied barrier tape to base of pole, and left for Northern Powergrid to rectify.

Time: 15:48  Location: Fryton Lane, Slingsby

Malton and Helmsley crews attended a RTC with a report of persons trapped following a head on collision.

Time: 15:52  Location: Fearby

Bedale appliance responded to a chimney fire. Fire extinguished by use of a hearth kit. Advice given to have chimney swept asap.

There were also attended fire alarm activations in: York and Scarborough.  All proved false alarms.
