Incident Summary – Day Shift Monday 2nd December 2024
To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.
09:37 – Richmond
A crew from Richmond assisted ambulance gaining entry into a property where a person had fallen and couldn’t get back up. The crew used small tools to effect entry and assisted moving a person onto a stretcher and into the waiting road ambulance.
10:19 – York
York crews responded to an automatic fire alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm caused by a faulty detector.
11:23 – Selby
A member of public called in to Selby Fire Station requesting a ring be removed from their finger. Crews used a ring cutter to remove the ring.
13:36 – York
A crew from York assisted with a lift rescue in a public building. They liaised with a lift engineer who used the lift panel to move the lift between floors. Crews then used a lift key to open the lift and release two people inside.
14:04 – Helmsley
Kirkbymoorside crews responded to a small vehicle fire in an agricultural setting. They used a hose reel jet and a breathing apparatus set to extinguish the fire. The vehicle suffered 100% fire damage and the cause remains unknown.
15:21 – York
Crews from York, Acomb and Tadcaster responded to reports of smoke logging in a retail premises. Crews entered the building to inspect wearing two breathing apparatus sets and carried a hose reel jet to fight fire if required. After a thorough inspection it was found that a smoke cloak had activated in the building and no action was required by the fire service.
