Incident Summary – Sunday Nightshift, 1st December 2024

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Time: 17:10  Location: Easingwold

A crew from Easingwold responded to an activated fire alarm inside a public building. Crews found now sign of smoke or fir at the premises. This was caused by the deliberate activation of the call point. Crews gave advice to the responsible persons.

Time: 00:43  Location: Malton

A crew from Malton responded to a request from police to check on a elderly occupant who had fallen inside their property and were stuck next to a heater they believed could still be on in a unsafe position. Crews were able to gain entry once contact was made with family member to give them access. Crews found no fire risks inside the property but assisted the occupant back to their feet and gave precautionary first aid. The occupant had no injuries and was left in the care of their family member.

Crews from Malton, Acomb (x2) and York (x3) also responded to activated fire alarms inside commercial and residential buildings. These were all confirmed false alarms.
