Incident Summary – Tuesday Nightshift, 7th January 2025

Time: 17:19 Location: Acomb
Acomb assisted ambulance with the extrication of a casualty from inside their property to the awaiting ambulance outside. Crew power used only.
Time: 17:49 Location: Selby
Both crews from Selby responded to a fire alarm activation inside an electrical substation. Crews arrived and located the alarm but found no sign of fire. Once engineers arrived crews gained access and confirmed this to be a false alarm.
Time: 00:14 Location: Settle
Multiple fire crews were enroute to assist with a casualty who had fallen into the river and needed assistance getting back to dry land. Thankfully, just prior to the first crews arrival the casualty was out of the water and in the safe hands of paramedics and being assessed.
Time: 03:52 Location: Huntington
A crew from York responded to assist paramedics and a casualty stuck inside a lift. Fortunately, staff on site had managed to open the lift door using a lift key prior to crews arrival. Crews carried out an inspection only.
Time: 05:13 Location: Skipton
A crew from Skipton gained entry to a property for awaiting paramedics outside to complete a welfare check on the occupant inside. Crews gained entry using small tools and left incident with paramedics who were assessing casualty inside.
Crews from York (x2), Harrogate (x2) and Northallerton also responded to activated fire alarms inside commercial and residential buildings. After inspection, these were all confirmed a false alarm.
