Incident Summary – Day Shift, Friday 17th January

Time: 07.44   Location: Acomb

The crew from Acomb responded to an activation of an automatic fire alarm in a residential property.  This was found to be a false alarm due to a faulty detector head.

Time: 08.48   Location: York

Crew from York attended a report of an automatic fire alarm activation at a residential premises.  This was found to be a false alarm due to testing the system.  Crews gave the staff advice.

Time: 12.43   Location: Northallerton 

Crews from Northallerton and Thirsk responded to a single vehicle road traffic collision where a vehicle had left the road and come to rest on its side.  Crews used stabilisation equipment before removing the windscreen to allow the occupants to walk to safety and they were left in the hands of the Ambulance Service.

Time: 12.59   Location: Kirkbymoorside

Crews from Kirkbymoorside responded to the activation of an automatic fire alarm.  This was found to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Time: 13.19   Location:  York

The crew from Whitby responded to a request from Ambulance to gain entry to a premises.  Crews used a triple extension ladder to access the property.

Time: 13.21   Location:  Richmond

Crews from Richmond and Colburn attended multiple reports of a fire seen from a road.  This was found to be a shed on fire that contained cylinders.  Crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and a 45mm jet to extinguish the fire.

Time: 15.11   Location:  Harrogate 

The crew from Harrogate responded to an activation of an automatic fire alarm at a residential property.  This was caused by an overheating lamp in a tortoise tank.
