Incident Summary – Friday 17th January 2025, Night shift

18:20 – Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of an alarm activation in a residential premises. This was a false alarm due to an accidental activation of a break glass point.

18:45 – Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough came across a single vehicle road traffic collision where a vehicle had hit a pedestrian. Crews carried out initial first aid assessments on the pedestrian until police arrived on scene. The incident was left in the hands of the police awaiting the arrival of ambulance crews.

19:49 – York 

A crew from Acomb responded to a report of an alarm activation at a residential premises. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes, advice was given to a responsible person.

21:06 – Green Hammerton  

A crew from Acomb responded to a report of an alarm activation at a residential premises. This was a false alarm due to burnt toast.

21:09 – Skipton 

A crew from Skipton responded to a report of an alarm activation at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

21:28 – Malton 

A crew from Malton responded to a report of a chimney fire in a residential property. On arrival of the crews, the fire in the chimney had burnt out. Crews carried out an inspection of the flue for any remaining hot spots. Advice was given for the occupants to have the log burner and chimney checked before using it again.

22:51 – York 

A crew from York responded to a report of a fire in a skip. Crews gained access to the skip using a triple extension ladder and extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel jet.

01:10 – Skipton 

A crew from Skipton responded to a report of an alarm activation at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

01:45 – Harrogate

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding in a premises. This was a false alarm due to steam from a ruptured pipe.

06:29 – A1237, Askham Bryan

Crew were mobilised to a report of a multiple vehicle RTC. Crews isolated battery of electric vehicle and made scene safe.
