Incident Summary – Monday Dayshift, 20th January 2025

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Time: 08:28  Location: Thirsk

Crews from Thirsk, Northallerton and Ripon responded to a the vehicle road traffic collision. One casualty was trapped inside their vehicle and crews assisted paramedics with removing the casualty to the road ambulance for transport. Other occupants of the vehicles involved suffered minor injuries and were also medically checked by paramedics. All fire crews made the affected vehicles safe and cooled the engine of one vehicle using  a hose reel jet for precautionary reasons. The incident was left with Police.

Time: 12:14   Location: Wetherby

Tadcaster crew assisted Wetherby in their fire services area with a small fire reported on the grass verge of the motorway. No fire was located after an inspection and the cause remains unknown.

Time: 12:37  Location: Acomb 

Acomb and York mobilised to a cooker on fire inside a domestic property. Crews entered the property wearing breathing apparatus equipment and extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet. A positive pressure ventilation fan was then used to clear the property of remaining smoke and advice was given to the occupants.

Time: 16:29  Location: Leyburn

Crews from Hawes responded to reports of a road traffic collision where a vehicle was smoking. On arrival, crews found all occupants out of the vehicle and uninjured. Crews made the vehicle and safe and the incident was left with police.

 

Crews from Northallerton and Acomb responded to activated fire alarms inside residential buildings. After inspection, these were all confirmed false alarms.
