Incident Summary – Night Shift, Sunday 19th January

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Time: 17.50   Location: York

The crew from Acomb were called to a report of a white transit van that was smoking.  This was found to be steam from a diesel heater in a converted camper van.

Time: 18.01   Location: Thirsk

The crew from Thirsk responded to an activation of a main fire panel in a multiple residential property.  This was found to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes. Crews ventilated property.

Time: 18.02   Location: Acomb

Crews from Acomb and York responded to an activation of a lifeline service. This was found to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Time:  18.55  Location: Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough responded to a report of gas leaking from a freezer in a residential premises. Crew used 2 breathing apparatus to remove freezer from property and left the occupant in the hands of the Ambulance service.

Time: 20:18 & 20:19   Location: York

York and Acomb appliances were dispatched to two given locations by two collector stations within one large leisure complex building. Activations sourced to one location following investigation at scene with staff. Cause attributed to a faulty detector.

Time: 21.25   Location: Acomb

Crews from Acomb responded to a report of a water leak in a residential premises. On arrival of the crew the council were in attendance to deal with the situation and the incident was left in their hands.

Acomb crew responded to a fire alarm activation within a flat. Cause was steam. Advice given.
