Incident Summary – 20th January 2025, Night Shift

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

18:30 – Easingwold 

Crews from Easingwold and Acomb responded to a report of a fire to the front brakes of a HGV. Prior to the fire service arrival, the driver had used a dry powder extinguisher that had extinguished the fire. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to cool the brake pads and calipers that had over heated. The incident was left with the driver awaiting recovery.

20:49 – Filey 

A crew from Filey responded to a report of a fire in the garden of a property. On arrival, crews found a fire contained in a metal drum was out. Advice was given to a responsible person.

05:14 – Whitby 

A crew from Whitby responded to a report of an alarm activation at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to a fault on system.

05:25 – York 

A crew from York responded to a report of an alarm activation at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to a system fault.
