Incident Summary – Tuesday Dayshift, 21th January 2025

Time: 08:18 Location: Skipton
Crews from Skipton and an appliance from neighbouring brigade Lancashire responded to reports of a two vehicle road traffic collision. All occupants were out and uninjured prior to fire crews arrival. No action was required by the fire crews and the incident was left in the hands of police.
Time: 11:40 Location: York
A crew from York responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. This was caused by a small fire inside an electrical cupboard which was out prior to crews arrival. Crews investigated the affected area using a thermal imaging camera and found no signs of fire spread. Advice was given to isolate the electrics and the incident was left with on site staff to arrange the attendance of engineers.

A crew from Bedale responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. This was confirmed by engineers working on site and confirmed a false alarm.

A crew from Northallerton attended a residential property to remove a stuck ring from a residents finger. Ring cutter used only.
Time: 13:25 Location: York
A crew from York responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. The cause of the alarm remains unknown however a full inspection was carried and a engineer was contacted to attend.
Time: 14:10 Location: Whitby
A crew from Whitby responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential property. This was caused by engineers onsite testing the equipment. Advice given.
Time: 14:20 Location: York
A crew from York responded to a person trapped inside the toilets of a public building. Crews arrived to find that the person had self rescued.
Time: 15:20 Location: York
A crew from York responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential property. This was caused by vaping inside the property and advice was given.
Time: 15:38 Location: Acomb
A crew from Acomb assisted ambulance crews with gaining entry to a property so that they could assist the occupant inside. Crews gained entry using the gain entry kit to find no occupant present. Crews secured the property and left the incident with paramedics.
