Incident Summary – Tuesday Jan 21st Night shift

 

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

17:17 Ellingstring

Leyburn and Ripon crews responded to a tractor on fire. The tractor was well alight on crew arrival and was with a hedge cutting unit. Crew extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets.

17:23 Skipton

Skipton crews responded to investigate reports a fire alarm sounding and a smell of burning inside a domestic property. On arrival there was no fire or smoke in the property. It is believed the alarm sounded due to a fault.

18:15 A1 Bramham Crossroads (A64)

Tadcaster and Wetherby crews responded to reports of a vehicle on fire. After inspection this was confirmed as an engine fault. No fire occurred. Fire Service intervention was not necessary.

03:39 A64 Welburn 

Crews from Malton responded to a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision in which the car collided with a tree. Crews assisted ambulance crews and made the vehicle safe and before providing lighting to assist police. The incident was left in the hands of the police.

 

Automatic fire alarm activations were investigated in Acomb, Malton, Harrogate, York, Easingwold, Scarborough. All were confirmed as false alarms.
