Incident Summary – Monday 3rd February 2025, Night shift

17:14 – Knaresborough
A crew from Knaresborough responded to a report of an alarm activation at a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes. Crews ventilated the property.
17:50 – Knaresborough
A crew from Knaresborough responded to a report of an alarm activation at a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes. Crews ventilated the property and gave advice to the occupant.
18:19 – Hinderwell
A crew from Whitby along with a crew from Loftus responded to a report of a chimney fire in a residential property. Crews used chimney rods to extinguish the fire from the hearth before monitoring to ensure there were no remaining hot spots. Advice was given to the occupants.
18:41 – Malton
Crews from responded to a report of an alarm activation in a residential property where there was also a smell of smoke. Crews carried out a thorough inspection and found this was a false alarm due to cooking fumes. Crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the premises and gave advice to a responsible person.
21:11 – Knaresborough
A crew from Knaresborough responded to a report of an alarm activation at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.
23:15 – York
A Crew from Acomb responded to a fire involving fencing and a tree stump. Crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel. The cause is believed to have been deliberate
23:52 – Selby
A crew from Selby responded to reports of a fire underneath a bridge. Crews completed a full inspection of the area but were unable to locate a fire this is believed to have been a false alarm.
02:17 – York
A crew from York responded to a report of an alarm activation at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to dust from work being carried out.
