Incident Summary – Tuesday Nightshift, 18/02/2025

Time: 17:19 Location: Skipton
Both crews from Skipton and an over the border appliance from Colne responded to a cabin on fire in the middle of the woods. Crews used a hose reel jet and beaters to stop the spread of the fire to the nearby trees until further water resources arrived on scene. After the fire was extinguished, a fire investigation officer determined the cause of this fire is believed to be deliberate. The incident was handed over and left with Police.
Time: 20:29 Location: Scarborough
Crew were requested by Police to assist with making a vehicle safe following it rolling down a hill. Crews isolated battery using small tools, and left in hands of Police and owner.
Time: 20:43 Location: Selby
A crew from Selby assisted paramedics with lifting a patient from inside their home down a spiral staircase. Crews used a casualty drag sheet and crew power only. The incident was left with paramedics.
Time: 21:21 Location: York
Crews from Acomb and York mobilised to smoke sighted from inside a residential flat. Crews inspected the reported flat and found no sign of smoke or fire. This was a false alarm caused by cooking fumes. Advice was given to the occupier.
Time: 22:18 Location: Wetherby
Both crews from Tadcaster were mobilised to assist West Yorkshire Fire crews with a fire inside the kitchen of a residential flat. The fire was out prior to Tadcaster crews arrival and the flat sustained light smoke logging only. Crews assisted with the inspection of the flat before leaving the incident in the hands of West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service fire crews.

A crew from Selby gained entry to a property for ambulance crews so that they could assist the occupant inside.
Time: 01:52 Location: Bedale
A crew from Northallerton gained entry to a property for ambulance crews so that they could assist the occupant inside.
Time: 02:16 Location: York
York and Acomb crews mobilised to rubbish on fire at the side of a residential building.
In addition numerous fire alarms were attended across the county which were false alarms.
