Incident Summary – 24th March 2025, Night shift

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

18:33 – York 

A crew from York responded to a report of a number of youths that had become trapped on an island within a river having jumped over and were unable to get back. Crews rescued 2 females from the island using a triple extension ladder.

19:05 – Acomb 

A crew from York responded to a report of an alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

20:01 – York

A crew from York responded to a premises flooding from a tap. Fire crew rectified flooding issue and assisted occupant with mopping up.

20:17 – Malton

A crew from Malton responded to a report of fire which had occurred, but was believed to be out some time ago, within a commercial premises. Thermal camera used to prove no hot spots remained within the electrical consumer unit where the fire had occurred.

20:37 – York

A crew from York responded to a report of a large fire in a rear garden. On arrival, this was found to be supervised controlled burning.

22:55 – Acomb 

A crew from Acomb responded to a report of an alarm activation in a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to an accidental activation of the main panel.

00:54 – Scarborough 

A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of an alarm activation in a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to an unknown cause.
