Incident Summary – Monday 14th April, 2025 – Night Shift
To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.
18:01 – Northallerton
The crew from Northallerton responded to reports of a fire being set deliberately. Upon arrival no sign of fire was found.
18:04 – Strensall
Huntington’s crew attended a fire involving a vehicle. The crew used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and dampen down the area.
18:28 – Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of a hedge fire close to a residential property. The fire was out on arrival of the Fire Service, however the crew used a hose reel jet to fully dampen down the area.
18:30 – Acomb
York’s crew attended an incident involving a small fire in the open which had been lit deliberately. The crew extinguished the fire using knapsack sprayers.
18:31 – York
Crews from Selby and Tadcaster responded to an incident in York. The incident was resolved without any action needing to be taken by the Fire Service.
18:57 – Whitby
A crew from Whitby responded to reports of children playing on the roof of a three-storey property. The crew and Police conducted full inspections of the building and found no sign of people on the property. The incident was left with Police.
19:23 – Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential building. This was found to be a false alarm caused by the activation of a call point.
20:20 – Hob Moor, York
Acomb fire crew liaised with residents and extinguished a bonfire in woodland. Advice given to youths.
21:19 – Acomb
Crews from Acomb and York attended a fire which had spread from a fire pit to a shed. Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
21:57 – York
A crew from York responded to an automatic fire alarm activation within a residential building. This was a false alarm that had been caused by cooking fumes.
23:16 – Scarborough
Scarborough’s fire crew attended an address where a fire alarm had activated and there had been no response from the occupier. Upon arrival the occupier was found safe and well. The cause for the alarm activation was cooking fumes.
00:47 – Knaresborough
The crew from Knaresborough assisted with releasing a person who had accidentally locked themselves in a room. The crew used a lock key and pull snapper to access the room and release the person inside.
