Incident Summary – Sunday Nightshift, 27th April 2025

Time: 17:43 Location: Coulby Newham

A crew from Stokesley assisted our colleagues at Cleveland Fire Brigade with an incident in their area. Incident was a small fire in woodland. Crew extinguished using a hose reel.

Time:20:52  Location: Near Selby

Selby crew responded to multiple reports of a fire sighted in the open. On arrival crew requested a further appliance for extra water. This was confirmed as a fire in a field measuring  30m x 30m and consisted of trees, bushes and old furniture. Crew extinguished the fire due to its size using a hose reel.

Time: 21:04 Location: Near Scotch Corner

Richmond, Darlington and Bedale crew responded to a property fire. First crew on scene forced entry due to smoke in property and concern for the occupant. Occupant was located inside by crew and lead to safety. Occupant received treatment from paramedics but did not sustain any serious injuries. The fire was confined to food left in the oven unattended.

Pickering were mobilised to investigate a report of a fire sighted in a field. After an extensive search of the area no fire was located.

Time: 23:23 Location: Near Knaresborough

Knaresborough crews assisted with a resident locked inside their room in a care home. Crews used a lock snapper to enable staff to access the room and administer medication.

Time:00:53  Location: York

York and Acomb crew responded to a call reporting an oven on fire. On arrival crew investigated and confirmed this was a malicious call. Other emergency services had received a call to the same location earlier today.

Time: 02:39  Location: Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough gained entry to a property for awaiting ambulance crews outside to complete a welfare check on the occupant inside. Small tools used only.

 

Automatic fire alarm activations were investigated in Scarborough, Colburn, York (x2) and Knaresborough. All were confirmed as false alarms.
