Incident Summary – Day shift, Sunday 11th May

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred. 

 

Time:  0957    Location:  Bank Newton

Skipton and Barnoldswick attended following report of a fire within a residential property. Crews confirmed fire out on arrival. Crews carried out inspection, ventilated and gave advice.

Time:  1204    Location:  Harrogate

Harrogate attended a two vehicle road traffic collision with Police and Ambulance. Crews made vehicles safe. Smoke issuing from engine compartment of one of the vehicles, crew used one hose reel jet to cool. Thermal image camera used for checks. Incident left with Police and Ambulance.

Time:  1448    Location:  Slingsby

Both Malton crews attended and extinguished a fire in the open. One hose reel used to extinguish the fire.

Time:  1508    Location: Hampsthwaite

Both Harrogate appliances attended a single vehicle road traffic collision, with one female driver inside. Crews stabilised the vehicle and female self rescued via rear of vehicle. Female left in care of Paramedics on scene. Crews carried out further scene safety before leaving the incident in hands of Police.

Time:  1526    Location:  Bilton in Ainsty

Tadcaster and Wetherby crews attended and extinguished a fire in the open consisting of straw. Crews worked with farmer who utilised farm machinery to assist, crews extinguished the fire using hose reel jet.

Time:  1536    Location:  York

York and Acomb crews attended and extinguished a shed fire. One main jet used to extinguish the fire. Police requested to attend due to suspected deliberate ignition.

Time:  1547    Location:  Skeeby

Richmond crew attended following report of a tree fire. Crew confirmed smoke issuing from tree. Crews accessed area using triple extension ladder and extinguished using backpack sprayers.

Time:  1548    Location:  Hillam

Selby crew attended an area in the open following a report of a muck heap smouldering. Crews located and confirmed bushes in vicinity also affected. Crews used one hose reel jet a pitch forks to extinguish.
