Incident summary 31/05/2025 Night shift

18:50  River Ouse, Beningbrough.

Following an engine failure, fire brigade resources tied a drifting cruiser boat to a tree by the riverbank. The seven persons on board will remain until the boat can be repaired or recovered.

18:54  Sutton in Craven.

Following a report of smoke sighted up on the hill, Skipton fire crew investigated. False alarm, controlled burning of wooden pallets.

19:28  Dishforth.

Following a report of smoke blowing across the carriageway, Ripon crew were mobilised to investigate. No sign of fire following full search of area.

19:54  Barlby.

Following a report of youths setting fire on parkland the nearest available fire crew – Malton who were standing by in York, were dispatched. Fire out on arrival, with advice given to the caller.

21:40  Hampsthwaite.

Following calls of a large fire in a field, Harrogate crew were dispatched to investigate. False alarm due to controlled burn by farmer.

23:18  Ruswarp.

Police contacted Fire to assist with an overturned car following a RTC. Fire crew assisted Police with scene management and left with them to investigate the driver’s whereabouts.

There were also fire alarm activations attended in: Scarborough x2, Kirkbymoorside, Malton and Harrogate.  All proved false alarms.
