Incident Summary – Sunday 1st June Day Shift
To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.
11:15 – Heslington Road, York
A crew from York responded to a report of a smell of burning. After inspecting the area, the crews determined that this was a false alarm good intent and the smell was from a barbecue.
13:12 – New Earswick, York
Crews from York and Acomb attended reports of smoke sighted in the basement of a residential building. Crews inspected the premises and found this to be a blown light fitting. Crews assisted with isolating the power to the light fitting and gave advice to staff on site.
13:18 – Parliament Street, York
A crew from Tadcaster assisted with releasing a child who had become locked in a car. The crew used small tools to access the vehicle through the rear window and reunited the child with their parents.
15:55 – Westfield Wood, Haxby
A crew from York responded to a report of a smouldering pile of wood that had been lit deliberately by youths. Crews used knapsack sprayers to extinguish the fire and Police were informed.
16:24 – Ray Bridge Lane, Gargrave
A crew from Skipton responded to a request from Police to assist with a single vehicle road traffic collision. All persons were out of the vehicle uninjured on arrival of the crew. They used drizit pads and a thermal imaging camera to make the scene safe, and left the vehicle with the responsible person awaiting recovery.
