Incident summary for 2 June, 2025 – Night shift

Time: 18:03   Location: Grange Lane, York

Acomb crew used knapsack sprayers to extinguish a large fire in woodland started by youths. Police informed.

Time: 18:36   Location: Askwith

Otley and Skipton crews freed a male after he had become stuck in his premises.

Time: 19:17   Location: York

York crew used responded to a fire to an external premises tv cable box. The fire had been extinguished prior to arrival, by Police using an extinguisher. Cause – deliberate by youths.

Time: 19:22   Location: York

Acomb fire crew responded to a fire alarm activation which was found to have been caused by a vacuum cleaner following an electrical fault which then started smouldering. Removed to open air.

Time: 19:27   Location: A1 south bound nr Leeming Bar

Bedale crew provided scene safety following a single car RTC. The driver was neither trapped nor injured. Fire crew assisted in removing the car from the carriageway.

Time: 19:32   Location: Rawden Avenue, York

Acomb crew used knapsack sprayers to extinguish a wheelie bin fire in woodland started by youths. Police informed.

Time: 20:47   Location: York

Acomb crew used crew power to free a male from being trapped in his bathroom following a lock failure.

Time: 22:01  Location: Northallerton

Crew from Northallerton responded to reports of a large fire sighted on farmland. Crews located a fire measuring 4 x 4 metres consisting of farm waste products including straw and wood. The fire was extinguished using 1 hose reel jet.

There were also fire alarm activations attended in: York, Malton and Harrogate.  All proved false alarms.
