Time:17:12 Location: Stuart Road, York

Tadcaster crews responded to reports of a fire in a rear garden. Crews investigated and confirmed this was a controlled burn with adequate supervision. Fire Service intervention not necessary.

Time: 17:32 Location: Old School Walk, York

Acomb crew responded to investigate some hedges on fire. Crew used knapsack sprayers to extinguish. The cause of fire is believed to be deliberate.

Time:17:40 Location: Boroughbridge Road, York

Easingwold crews responded to a report of more hedges on fire, on arrival this was confirmed to be the same incident as Acomb were attending.

Time: 18:08 Location: Selby Football Club

Selby crews responded to a fire involving grass on the pitch. The cause is most likely to be deliberate. Crew used a ladder to gain access and buckets of water to extinguish the fire.

Time: 19:21 Location: Royal Crescent, Whitby

Whitby crews assisted a person stuck in a lift. Crew released the lift doors to allow the occupant to exit the lift unharmed.

Time:19:40 Location: Market Place, Ripon

Ripon and Harrogate crews responded to a report of a smoke alarm sounding in a flat and a smell of smoke. The caller was unable to get an answer when knocking on the door. Crews gained entry to the property via an open rear window. This was a false alarm with good intent. The smoke was caused by cooking left unattended.

A crew from Northallerton responded to reports of a fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm caused by a manual activation of a callpoint.

Time: 21:07  Location: High Street, Knaresborough

Crews from Knaresborough and Harrogate responded to reports of smoke coming from a residential property. This was a false alarm with good intent, caused by smoke from a chimnea.

A crew from Harrogate responded to reports of a person who had become stuck in the bath.

A crew from Knaresborough responded to reports of a fire in the open. This was controlled burning under supervision.

Time: 00:58 Location: Broughton Road, Skipton

A crew from Skipton responded to reports of flooding inside a premises. Yorkshire water isolated the mains water at this incident.

Time: 06:20 Location: Eskdale Road, Whitby

A crew from Whitby responded to a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with the extrication of a patient to the awaiting road ambulance. On arrival, the patient had become well enough to get themself to the ambulance. No action required by the fire service.
