Incident Summary – 19th August 2025, Day shift

Time: 07:10 – High Row, Reeth 

A crew from Reeth responded to a request from ambulance to assist with moving a casualty from their property into the awaiting ambulance. Crews used crew power to assist.

Time: 09:04 – High Street, Ebberston

A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of smoke seen coming from a wooded area. Crews located a controlled burn that they extinguished using 1 hose reel jet. Advice was given to a responsible person.

Time 11:10 – Brayton Barff, Brayton

A crew responded to a report of a small fire in the open. Crews located a small amount of trees and grassland on fire. Crews used knapsack sprayers and shovels to extinguish the fire.

Time: 11:36 – Troutsdale

A crew responded to a report of a small fire in the open. Crews located a small amount of shrubbery smouldering due to a deliberate ignition of fly tipping. Crews extinguished the fire and dampened down the area.

Time: 13:09 – Lancaster Park Road, Harrogate 

A crew from Harrogate responded to a report of a road traffic collision that had resulted in the vehicle leaking fluid. No action was required by fire service crews.

Time: 13:59 – Crabmill Lane, Easingwold 

A crew from Acomb responded to a request from ambulance crews to assist with moving a casualty from a residential property. Crews assisted ambulance crews to transfer the casualty to the ambulance and left them in the care of paramedics.

Time: 15:04 – Wigginton Road, York

A crew from Acomb responded to a report of an alarm activation at a commercial premises. Crews found the activation had been caused by a small fire within machinery that was out on their arrival. Crews carried out an inspection using a thermal imaging camera.

Time: 15:38 – Fountains Road, Ripley 

Crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough responded to a report of a tractor on fire. Crews extinguished the fire and cooled the vehicle before using drizzit pads to soak up oil that had leaked onto the road. Crews cordoned off the vehicle and handed the incident over to a responsible person to arrange recovery.
