Incident Summary – Night shift Wednesday 20th August
** Large ongoing incident – Langdale End, Fylingdales.
Three appliances remained on scene overnight extinguishing flare ups and hotspots. 5 appliances will re-attend today to continue the firefighting.
17:41 Bromley Lane, Newby
Stokesley crews responded to reports of a fire sighted in a field containing livestock. Crews investigated and extinguished a campfire that had been left unattended. No harm caused to any livestock.
18:27 Westminster Road, York.
York crews attended a a large fire in the open consisting of general waste. Fire was unattended. Crews used a hose reel to extinguish.
19:05 St Benedict Road, York
York crews responded to a fire involving fencing. Crews confirmed the cause of fire is likely to be deliberate and involved fences. Crew extinguished the fire using a hose reel.
21:17 Malton Road, Stockton on the Forest
York crew assisted Ambulance personnel with extrication of a casualty. The layout of the property made the task difficult. The extra help from the York fire crew enabled the casualty to be successfully carried out of the property and into the Ambulance.

Selby crews responded to a large fire left unattended measuring 10m x 20m which spread to grassland. Crews used a hose reel to extinguish.
22:48 Navigation Road, York.
York crews investigated a smoke alarm activation at some flats above a shop. This was confirmed as false alarm due to a fault with the alarm system.
23:25 Abbey Walk, Selby
Selby crew responded to rescue a male stuck in mud at side of dyke. Male was stuck up to his waist in the mud and had been there a considerable time. Crews pulled him free of the mud and he was left in the care of paramedics on scene.

Richmond crew assisted Ambulance Service to gain entry to property.
00:16 St Aelreds Close, York.
York crews attended a fire alarm activation at a sheltered accommodation property. Crews found a small fire out on their arrival due to a faulty electrical heater. Crews isolated the electrics and gave advice to a responsible person.
