Incident Summary – Tuesday Dayshift, 23rd September 2025
Time: 10:35 Location: Park Street, Ripon
Ripon responded to a single vehicle road traffic collision where a vehicle struck a building. Both vehicle occupants were out prior to arrival with minor injuries and received first aid from fire crews. Crews remained on scene making the vehicles and building safe until the arrival of police and ambulance. Both Casualties were handed over and into the care of ambulance crews and the incident was left with police.
Time: 10:47 Location: Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough
Scarborough responded to a 4×4 vehicle on fire. Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet. The fire is believed to had started in the engine compartment. Access was made to the engine using edarulic spreaders to cool hotspots.

Harrogate responded to a smoke alarm activation inside a domestic property. After inspection, the alarm activation was caused by testing the system and advice was given to the occupant who was arranging recovery.
Time: 12:25 Location: Near Swinton, Malton
Malton responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. After inspection, his was confirmed a false alarm from workmen on site. Advice given.

York assisted an elderly occupant at a residential home with the removal of 3 rings stuck on their finger. Electric ring cutter used.
Time: 14:13 Location: Southgate, Ripon
Ripon assisted a elderly occupant who was locked inside their bathroom after becoming stuck. Crews gained access using crew power and left the casualty in the hands of a family member after it was confirmed they had no injuries.
Time: 14:54 Location: Main Street, Fulford
Crews from Acomb responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential property. This was a false alarm caused by cooking fumes.
Time: 15:07 Location: South Cliff, Scarborough
Scarborough mobilised to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. This was caused by steam and advice was given after it was confirmed this was a false alarm.
Time: 16:07 Location: Green Dykes Lane, York
York and Selby responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision. All persons were out prior to their arrival and in the hands of paramedics. Crews provided scene safety before leaving the incident.
Time: 16:50 Location: Newby Wiske, Norhtallerton
Northallerton assisted ambulance staff with the difficult extrication of a patient who had fallen inside their property. Crew power used only.
