Incident Summary – Day Shift, Saturday 4th October
Time: 08.01 Location: A59, Kexgill
Two Crews ffrom Harrogate and one from Skipton attended a road traffic collision which involved 2 vehicles. all occupants of the vehicles were out on arrival of the crews. Crews provided Immediate Emergency Care while awaiting Ambulance crews and used small tools to make the vehicle safe.
Time: 09.05 Location: Trafalgar Road, Scarborough
Crew from Scarborough responded to a report of a dangerous structure where rendering had fallen from the side of a building. Crews made the scene safe and gave advice to the occupier.
Time: 09.16 Location: Thorpe Lane, Cawood
Crews from Selby, Tadcaster and York responded to a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision where a vehicle struck a street light and telegraph pole, ending up on its side. Fire crews made scene safe, righted car from being on its side to being on all 4 wheels and left incident with Police. The driver, who was not trapped, was being treated at scene by Paramedics.

Whilst at the above incident, a nearby householder informed the Fire crews that following re-energising of the electrics following the road traffic collision, smoke had started coming from the propertys plug sockets. Crews isolated the electrics to the property and inspected all plug sockets with the thermal imaging camera. The incident was left with the homeowner awaiting the electric board.
Time: 10.53 Location: Briggate, Knaresborough
A crew from Knaresborough responded to a request to assist Ambulance with extrication of a casualty from a property due to a difficult staircase. Crews used crew power and Ambulance equipment to extricate the casualty to an awaiting Ambulance.
Time: 11.47 Location: Breckenbrough, Northallerton
Northallerton Crew responded to a report of a car on fire. The fire was out on arrival of the crews so crews checked for any hotspots and gave advice.
Time: 12:22 Location: Farndale West
Harrogate fire crew, covering at Kirkbymoorside, responded to a report of smoke sighted near woodland. On arrival, this was found to be a controlled burn of a caravan. As there is limited water supply in the area, fire crew saturated the area surrounding the burning caravan, and left incident with responsible person.
Crews from Selby, Skipton and Harrogate also attended automatic fire alarm activations. These were false alarms.
