Incident Summary – Night Shift, Monday 13th October

Time: 17.10   Location: High Eggborough Lane, Eggborough

Crew from Selby responded to a report of a dog that had got trapped in barbwire by a lake.  Crews used inflatable rescue sled to make their way across the lake and rescue the dog.

Time:  17.34  Location: Deansfield Court, Norton

Malton crew responded to a report of a female who had fallen from their wheelchair and was unable to get up.  Crews used crew power to assist the casualty back into their wheelchair and left them in the hands of the community warden.

Time:  17.52  Location: Brentwood, Leyburn

The crew from Layburn responded to a report of a person who had fallen in their bathroom and family members were unable to assist the casualty.  Crews used crew power to assist the casualty from the bathroom floor into the living room and left them in the care of their mother.

Time:  18.25  Location: Green Lane, Whitby

Crews responded to a report of a fire sighted in some woodland.  On arrival of the crews this was found to be a controlled burn under supervision.

Time: 18.28   Location:  Scalby Mills Road, Scarborough

Crews from Filey and Scarborough responded to a report of a light fitting that had popped and tripped the electrics in a premises accompanied by a strong smell of burning.  Crews used thermal imaging camera to ensure there was no spread of fire from the light fitting and gave the occupants advice.

Time:  19.18  Location: Esplanade Crescent, Scarborough

A crew from Filey responded to a report of a fire in the open.  This was found to be a controlled burn with responsible person in attendance.

Time:  20.40  Location: Cleveland Street, Great Ayton

Stokesley crew responded to a report of a fire in an alleyway next to a property.  This was found to be a controlled burn of garden waste with responsible person in attendance.

Time:  21.02  Location:  Tanton Bridge, Stokesley

Stokesley Crew responded to a report of a chimney fire at a property.  Crews used Chimney rods, lighting, Small tools and Thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.

Time:  21.13  Location: Greystone Hills, Great Ayton

Crews from Coulby Newham and Guisborough (Cleveland FRS) responded to a report of a fire in a dome at a camp site. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and ventilated the area.

Time: 02.13   Location: Dalby Forest Drive, Ebberston

Crews from Scarborough responded to reports of a fire in the open due to a small camping gas bottle exploding. Fire was out upon arrival and no action was taken by crews.

Time: 04.28   Location: A19 Southbound East Rounton 

Crews from Northallerton, Ripon, and crews from Cleveland attended a multiple vehicle collision.  This involved 3 vehicles.  All persons were out of their vehicles on the arrival of the crews and the incident was left in the hands of the Police.

Time: 05.08   Location: A19 Southbound, Crathorne 

Crews from Cleveland and two crews from Northallerton responded to a further road traffic collision involving 2 vehicles in the que of traffic caused by the previous one.  One person was mechanically trapped.  Crews extricated the person and left them in the hands of Ambulance crews.

Crews from Harrogate and Scarborough also attended automatic fire alarm activations.  These were found to be false alarms.
