Incident Summary – Day Shift, Tuesday 4th November
Time: 08.43 Location: Church Street, Whitby
A Crew from Whitby responded to a request for assistance from Ambulance who were unable to access a casualty who had fallen in their property. Crews used small tools to gain entry to the property for the Paramedics.
Time: 08.49 Location: Park Grove, York
A Crew from Acomb responded to a report of a camping gas cannister that was leaking in the garden of a property. The cannister had emptied on arrival of the crews and no action was taken by the Fire Service.
Time: 12.52 Location: Kirkby Mills, Kirkbymoorside
A crew from Helmsley responded to a report of a fire between two houses. On arrival of the crews this was found to be a controlled burn under supervision by a responsible person.
Time: 13.10 Location: Seebohm Mews, York
Crews from York responded to a report of water flooding a premises. Crews attempted to isolate the water supply but were unable due to its source being from an external boiler. The incident was left with on-site engineers who were working to fix the issue.
Time: 14.01 Location: Westfield Lane, Wiggington
A crew from York responded to a report of a pile of wood chippings smoldering. Crews used shovels to turn over and extinguish the smoldering wood chip.
Time: 14.11 Location: Low Lane, Swinton
A Crew from Malton responded to a report of a fire to a car that had already been extinguished. Crews used a Thermal Imaging camera to ensure the fire was out and the vehicle was safe.
Time: 14.33 Location: Haxby, York
The Crew from York responded to assist ambulance to gain entry to a property due to concerns for the occupant. Crews used game kit to gain entry and left the casualty in the hands of Ambulance.
Time: 15.24 Location: Eastfield, Scarborough
Crews from Sherburn and Scarborough responded to a report of a fire to a property. Crews gained entry to the property using small tools and found no sign of fire.
Time: 16.21 Location: Alcuin Avenue, York
A Crew from York responded to a report of a fire in a park, Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire which was believed to have been started deliberately.
Crews from Acomb also attended an automatic fire alarm activation. This was found to be a false alarm.
