Incident Summary 3rd March Day Shift

3rd March 2021

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

08:15 Norton, Malton

A crew attended an incident where smoke was sighted in an electrical plant room. On the crew's arrival the smoke had dissiated. Crews carried out an inpsection of the plant room and equipment but could not find any hotpsots They gave advice to occupants.

08:40 Healey

Crews attened a fire to a tractor, which caused around 40% damage to the vehicle. Crews used breathing apparatus, hose reel jet and thermal imaging camera. The cause is believed to be an electrical fault.

08:54 Scarborough

A crew attended an inicdent where a person had become locked insde a bathroom. Crews were able to gain access to the room using handtools.

10:12 Skipton- false alarm caused by engineer working on the system

11:02 Harrogate- false alarm caused by engineer working on the system

13:02 Crossways Crescent, Harrogate

Crews attended reports of burning smell in the kitchen of a property. Crews discovered the cause was a short circuit on a dishwater after ti had been affected by water. Crews gave advice and isolated the appliance.

13:52 Plantation Road, Harrogate

An officer attended a late fire call where a hole had been burnt in a curtain a few days ago. The officer investigated and found that a concave mirror had reflected sunlight against the curtain and caused the burn hole. Advice was given to the occupier.

13:55 York

A crew attended an incident where a wheelchair wouldn't fit through a door in a flat. Crews cut some of the doorframe to allow the wheelchair to fit.

14:43 Guisborough Road, Ugthorpe, Whitby

A crew attended a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a car that came to rest on its roof. The driver was out of the vehicle and in the care of paramedics on fire crew's arrival. Crews made the vehicle safe.

15:39 Wydra- false alarm good intent- controlled burning under supervision

15:59 Glasshouses- false alarm good intent- no sign of fire.
