Incident Summary Saturday 11th August Night Shift

12th August 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 St Nicholas Fields, York: TOC – 17.54

Tadcaster crew attended 2 x 14 year old females who had got themselves stuck in a swing seat at a play park. Crews used ‘manpower’ only to released the girls.

Bullamoor Road, Northallerton: TOC – 18.14

Northallerton crew attended reports of a smell of electrical burning within a builder. This turned out to be caused by a overheated door mechanism. Crews carried out an inspection using a thermal imaging camera and provided advice.

Shambles Lane, Hutton Conyers: TOC – 18.33

Appliances from Ripon & Boroughbridge attended a combine harvester on fire in a field. Crews extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel jet and treated the farmer for minor burns using a medical kit. It is believed the fire was caused by an electrical fault.

Bridge Terrace, Richmond: TOC – 18.37

Reeth attended a boiler inside a property that was leaking and potentially affecting electrics. Crews isolated the water supply at the stop tap and provided advice to the occupier.

New Lane, York: TOC – 18.53

Tadcaster extinguished a plastic bench that was deliberately set alight. Crews used 1 x dry power extinguisher and 1 foam extinguisher to put out the fire.

Dene Park Close, Harrogate: TOC – 19.33

Harrogate attended a fire in a stubble field, crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish and dampen down the area. It is believed this was caused deliberately. 

Seamer Road, Scarborough: TOC – 19.52

Scarborough have attended reports of a fire in the woods close to Eastfield. This was a controlled burn under supervision.

High Street, Knaresborough: TOC – 21:42

Knaresborough have attended an automatic fire alarm. This was a false alarm due to a detector head picking up steam from a pot washer.

Marine Drive, Scarborough: TOC – 22:42

Scarborough have attended reports of a fire off Marine Drive. This was a controlled burn under supervision.

 Dunsley Lane, Dunsley: TOC – 02:14

Lythe crews have extinguished approximately 10 metres of hedge row that had caught alight. Crews used 1 hose reel jet and thermal imaging camera.

 Westborough, Scarborough: TOC 02.14

2 x appliance and an aerial ladder platform from Scarborough along with an appliance from Filey attended reports of thick smoke inside a hotel. This turned out to be due a smoke grenade detonation. Crews assisted with clearing the smoke and provided advice to the staff.  

Hallfield Road, York: TOC 04.14

York appliance attended an automatic fire alarm, this turned out to be a false alarm caused by cigarette smoke.

Tupgill Park, Coverham: TOC 02.14

Masham attended an automatic fire alarm at a industrial building, this turned out to be a false alarm caused by aerosol use.
